INSECTIPRO FOOD

MORE FOOD WITH HIGH NUTRITION

The growing demand for animal protein is placing increased pressure on land and water sources. The  carbon intensity of animal feed production adds to greenhouse gas emissions, putting pressure on the climate. In Africa, the current primary focus leans towards ensuring food security, with an emphasis on providing an adequate quantity of food to prevent hunger and starvation. This has led to the consumption of calorie-dense but nutrient-poor diets.

Eating insects is not new. That why InsectiPro food is introduced to implement new high nutritious food products made from insects for the mass.

THE CHALLENGES

Rise In Protein Need

Projections indicate a 42% surge in protein demand by 2050, driven by the expanding global population and escalating dietary requirements.

Land Availability

Current meat sources require more land so with a growing demand for animal protein this will place an increased pressure on land and water sources.

Nutrient Deficiency

Estimated 69% and 64% of children <5 years suffer from either vitamin A or iron deficiency in Eastern Africa and Southern Africa, respectively. Zinc deficiency varies from 32% to 63% in children aged 0 to 19 years from 4 countries (Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa).
